Scope of the Policy

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses and related digital services offered by redtapetry. These include specialised training in live production decks and control rooms, covering multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, and professional management of television and streaming productions. The policy covers both one-time course purchases and any recurring subscriptions for ongoing access to materials or updates. It governs transactions made through the website by customers located in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are processed, when contracts are formed, and under what conditions cancellations or refunds may be available. The policy does not cover third-party services or products purchased outside our platform.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate unless otherwise stated. Course fees may vary depending on the level of access, duration of enrolment or any bundled resources. Additional charges such as optional certification fees or extended support packages are clearly indicated before checkout. No hidden fees apply to standard course access. Prices are subject to change but any increase will not affect orders already confirmed. Currency conversion for international customers is handled by the payment processor and may incur separate bank charges outside our control.

Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal and bank transfers processed through secure third-party gateways. Payment authorisation occurs immediately upon submission of an order. All transactions are encrypted using industry-standard protocols to protect card details. We do not store full payment information on our servers. Authorisation may be declined if the payment method is invalid, expired or flagged for suspected fraud. In such cases the order will not be processed and you will be notified via email.

Order Confirmation and Contract Formation

Once you complete the checkout process and receive an order confirmation email, a binding contract is formed between you and redtapetry. The confirmation email contains details of the purchased course, access instructions and the total amount charged. You should retain this email for your records. Access to digital course content is granted automatically upon successful payment and confirmation.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order confirmation without giving a reason. For digital content, this right is lost once you begin downloading or streaming the material. If you cancel within the cooling-off period and have not accessed the content, you are entitled to a full refund. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time but refunds for unused periods are granted only in accordance with the eligibility rules below.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are available for cancellations made within the 14-day cooling-off period provided no substantial content has been accessed. Courses that have been fully downloaded, streamed beyond the introductory module or used for certification purposes are non-refundable. Promotional or discounted courses, gift vouchers and any completed live workshop sessions are excluded from refund. Refunds will not be issued for change of mind after the cooling-off period or for failure to meet personal learning expectations.

Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us in writing via the contact form on our Contacts page or by emailing [email protected]. Include your order number, full name, the course title and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You must also confirm whether any content has been accessed. Requests received outside the 14-day period or without required information may be delayed or declined.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification

Upon receipt of a refund request we will inspect the account activity to verify whether content access has occurred. You will receive an acknowledgement within two working days. A decision will be communicated within ten working days. If approved, you will be notified by email confirming the refund amount and expected processing timeline. If rejected, we will explain the reason and provide any options for appeal or partial credit.

Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds

Approved refunds are issued using the original payment method. Credit or debit card refunds typically appear on your statement within five to ten working days. PayPal refunds are usually processed within three working days. Bank transfers may take up to fifteen working days depending on your bank. We will notify you once the refund has been initiated. If funds have not reached you after the expected period, please contact [email protected] or 01494 671234 for assistance.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers

Digital course materials are supplied immediately upon payment and the 14-day cancellation right ends upon first access. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel future renewals at any time through your account dashboard but no pro-rata refunds are provided for partial periods. Promotional offers are subject to their own terms stated at purchase and generally exclude refund once accessed.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud

If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and allow re-authorisation. Duplicate charges will be investigated and refunded promptly upon verification. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in suspension of access. Suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the relevant authorities and may lead to permanent account termination without refund.

Mandatory Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or UK GDPR. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If you believe your statutory rights have been breached, you may seek redress through the courts or alternative dispute resolution schemes available in the United Kingdom.
